Eastern Shore Looks To Get Back On Track at DSU

Hawks Play Their Second Straight Game on the Road

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will take on their Route 13 rival, the Delaware State University Hornets, tomorrow (February 9) inside Memorial Hall in Dover. The game will tip off at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks (7-10, 2-4 MEAC) are looking to rebound from their defeat at the hands of Howard on February 5. They dropped that game 72-64 as senior Nathaniel Pollard, Jr. had 19 points on 8-9 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds as well.

Delaware State also dropped their last game to Howard on February 7 as they fell 69-64. The Hornets (2-17, 0-6 MEAC) will be looking for their first win in conference play on Wednesday. They have been close in numerous games as three of their six losses in MEAC play have been by five points or less.

"Delaware State is a scrappy team and even though they don't have a great record, they compete in every game they play," head coach Jason Crafton said. "(This game) will be less about the rivalry and more about us getting better to put ourselves in a better position to get a win on the road."

After their matchup with Delaware State, Maryland Eastern Shore will play their third straight game on the road as they travel to face Norfolk State on Saturday (February 12).
