NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina — In the most competitive field that the team has faced all season, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's golf team held their own this week (March 14-15) in the Bash at the Beach event at Surf Golf & Beach Club.
In the third and final round of the tournament, the Hawks posted a team score of 300. That number is the best for the squad as a whole this season.
Senior Mike Weller was the catalyst for the strong round on Tuesday (March 15) as he shot a 70 (-1) in the third round. He is the first Hawk to go under par for a round this season and finished the tournament with a 228. His overall score was tied for the team's best with freshman Michael Davis.
Troy won the event with a total team score of 828. UConn's Tommy Dallahan was the medalist for the tournament as he posted a score of 201 (-6).
Eastern Shore will be back in action March 27-29 in Greensboro, North Carolina at the Aggie Invitational.
