Hawks hit final tune-up for MEAC Championship

Conference title contested next week

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is now in the stretch run of the 2021-22 bowling season with just one event remaining before the post season.

When the women take the lanes Friday (March 18) at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tennessee, it will be the last chance to get ready for the March 25-27 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

However, The Shore (63-43, 11-5 MEAC) can't afford to look ahead quite yet.

The National Tenpin Coaches Association No. 16 Hawks face a field of 33 team all preparing for the postseason that includes: No. 1 McKendree, No. 2 Sam Houston State, No. 3 Nebraska, No. 5 Louisiana Tech, No. 6 North Carolina A&T State, No. 7 Arkansas State, No. 8 Stephen F. Austin, No. 9 Youngstown State, No. 13 Maryville, No. 15 Tulane, No. 21 Lincoln Memorial, No. 17 Long Island University Brooklyn, No. 19 Sacred Heart, NO. 22 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 24 Monmouth, No. 25 Central Missouri and hosted by No. 4 Vanderbilt.

Competition includes five 5-game Baker matches on Friday, five Traditional team games on Saturday and three best-of-seven Baker matches in bracket play on Sunday.
