HOW IT HAPPENED
 
 
Austin Peay opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with two runs and added four more in the second inning highlighted by a 2-run homer by John Bay down the line.
 
A double by Harrison Brown scored Lyle Miller-Green in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Governors upped the lead to 10-0 in the fifth inning with a RBI double by Trevor Conley and another two-run homerun from Bay.
 
UMES was unable to generate any significant offense with just one hit and no runs on the afternoon.
 

 
BY THE NUMBERS

Outfielder Danny Sadler, Jr. came up with the only hit for the Hawks with a double in the first inning.
 
Austin Peay scored the games first seven runs on seven hits combined with three UMES errors.
 
Seven Austin Peay players recorded a hit in Saturday's game. Andrew Devine pitched seven scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts and one walk.
