HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks grabbed an early 1-0 lead after loading the bases and scoring on a groundout RBI by Isaiah Beseries. Wagner grabbed momentum in the second inning as singles by Henry Martinez and Ariv Camacho drove in runs as the Seahawks went up 3-1. The Wagner scoring continued in the third inning as Chris Conniff hit a single to drive in two more runs followed by a double by Camacho to add another two runs. A fly out by Martinez brought in another run as Wagner ballooned its lead to 8-1 by the end of the third inning.
In the fourth inning, Mateo Matthews drove in Albert Serrano to home. A David Melfi homerun upped the lead to 11-1. UMES scored three runs in the seventh inning by way of walks and a hit batter. The final run of the game came by way of a homerun off the bat of Bryce Phelps to help deliver Wagner's 13-4 victory.
