HOW IT HAPPENED

DSU opened the scoring in the third inning, putting up five runs which included a two-run home run off the bat of Krew Bouldin.
In the next inning, DSU's Evan Harris came across to score the lone run of the inning to increase the lead to 6-0.
The Hornets notched another run in the next inning to go up 7-0 on Joey Current's leadoff home run.
DSU extended the lead to 10-0 with a three run sixth inning, all of them scoring on a three-run homer from Bouldin to left field,
Maryland-Eastern Shore put two runs on the scoreboard thanks to a two-run single by catcher Doyle McNew in the eighth inning.
THE NUMBERS
The Hawks managed a total of five hits in the game with two coming of the bat of Derek Blackmore.
DSU pitcher Jack Messmoro recorded 10 strikeouts over 7.2 innings,
Bouldin led the DSU offense with two home runs and a double.
