Flippin and Teal selected to Preseason All-Conference Team; UMES predicted to finish seventh in MEAC

Michael Teal have been named to Preseason All-Conference Team. UMES was projected to finish seventh in the conference standings as voted upon by the MEAC coaches and sports communication professionals.
Flippin, a 6'8 senior from Metairie, Louisiana,was named to the Preseason All-Conference First Team. Flippin was a consistent presence in the paint for the Hawks last season. He started n 27 games and appeared in 31 contests while averaging 9.9 points and grabbing 5.5 rebounds per contest.
Teal, who played in the MEAC for South Carolina State over the last two seasons, was selected to the Preseason All-Conference Third Team. The 6'1 guard from Alexandria, Virginia was limited to a handful of contests at SCSU last year while averaging 6.5 points and 2.3 assists per game. During his first season at SCSU, Teal appeared in 31 games while recording 8.4 points and 2.4 assists per game.
The Hawks open up the 2025-2026 season at Georgia Tech on November 3.Â
