Max Osten and Jeter Teng lead Hawks in the Battle at Rum Pointe



SUMMARY 

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's golf team finished in 12th place in Iona University's Battle at Rum Pointe with freshmen duo Max Osten and Jeter Teng leading the Hawks throughout the 36-hole event.

UMES SCORING

Max Osten was consistent for the Hawks with a first round score of 76 highlighted by birdies on hole four and hole 13. He played Saturday's final round under par for most of the day and finished with a one-under par 71 which included four birdies. Osten, a freshman from Vancouver, Canada, finished in a tie for 24th place with a tournament score of 147. Jeter Teng posted back-to-back rounds in the 70s with scores of 77 and 76 for a total of 153 and in a tie for 57th place. Senior Michael Davis posted round of 77 and 79 for a two-day total of 156. Andrew Scinta rounded out the UMES scoring for the week with scores of 79 and 82 for combined stroke count of 161.

As a team, UMES finished in 12th place in the field of 15 teams with scores of 309 and 308 and a tournament total of 617.
