Hawks finish in eighth place at the Northeast Conference Championships
WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's golf team finished the 2025 Northeast Conference Championships in eighth place.
Held at Kingsmill Golf Resort's River Course in Williamsburg, Virginia, the 11-team field played three rounds on the par-71 course spanning over 6800 yards.
In Thursday's opening round, the Hawks combined for a team score of 312. Freshman
Jeter Teng led the Hawks in the first round with a 77 followed by a 78 from
Max Osten and a pair of 79s from
Bryan Janocha and
Vincent Coleman.
Friday's round included a bounce back for senior
Michael Davis. After an opening round of 84, Davis shaved 10 strokes off his score to lead UMES with a 74. Osten carded a 75 while Janocha and Coleman duplicated Thursday's performances with another pair of 79s for a team score of 307.
The final round held on Saturday included windgusts of up to 20 miles per hour for the players to navigate. In his final collegiate career round, Davis recorded a 73 which included three birdies. Osten finished with an 80. Coleman shot an 82 and Janocha rounded out the final round UMES scoring with an 86 for a team score of 321.
The Hawks combined three round total of 940 strokes was good for eighth place in the 11-team field. In individual competition, Davis led UMES with a 30th place finish with a stroke count of 231. Osten was in a tie for 33rd place with a three day total of 233. Coleman's net total was 240 while Janocha's final tally was 243. Teng finished his week with a stroke total of 246.
