How It Happened

The opening set featured seven ties and three lead changes. After splitting the first 24 points, Robert Morris went on an 11-3 run en route to a 25-17 win in set one.

The Hawks never led in set two, but fought back to tie the match at three points during the frame. Most notably, UMES evened the match 21-21 with a 3-0 run. The Colonials answered by scoring four straight to ice set two.

In a similar fashion to the opening set, the third frame had seven ties and three lead changes. After going ahead 16-15, the Hawks never led again. Robert Morris scored the final two points to win the final set 25-23.

• Both teams registered 40 kills

• In attack, Robert Morris hit at a .250 clip compared to UMES' .173 clip

• Nkemjika Ikemefuna tied her season-high with 19 kills with a season-high .417 attack percentage. This is the second consecutive match that she has eclipsed 19 kills

• Alivia Proctor set a season-high and tied her career-high with eight digs

• Jayda Hutchins paced UMES with 35 assists

• Valeria Matias led the Hawks with 12 digs

All-Tournament Selection

Ikemefuna was one of six players to be named to the Hokie Invitational All-Tournament Team. She recorded 39 kills across three matches, including 19 kills against both Marshall and Robert Morris.
