Zion Obanla named to All-MEAC Team

Zion Obanla has been selected to the All-MEAC Second Team.
In his first year at UMES, the 6'8 forward has been the top scorer and rebounder for the Hawks. He has averaged 10.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in 31 games played this year while dramatically improving his numbers against MEAC opponents with 13.0 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in conference play.
Obanla has scored 20 points in three games this season (Hampton, Norfolk State, Coppin State) while grabbing a season high 15 rebounds at North Carolina Central.
Obanla will be in action on Thursday night as the Hawks take on North Carolina Central in the opening round of the MEAC Tournament. All games are being played at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
