SUMMARY
BALTIMORE, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore softball team fell to Morgan State, 4–1, in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play after the Bears used a four-run stretch in the middle innings to secure the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMES struck first in the opening inning.
Gabriella Beltran reached on an error in right field and advanced to second before
Amaya Nunez singled to center field to move Beltran to third.
Lola Meyer followed with an RBI single to center field to plate Beltran and give the Hawks an early 1–0 lead.
The Hawks held the advantage for two full innings before Morgan State responded with two runs in the fourth. A single to right field combined with a UMES error allowed both runs to score, giving the Bears a 2–1 lead.
Morgan State added insurance in the fifth inning, extending its lead to 4–1 with a two-RBI single.
UMES attempted a late rally in the final frame.
Clarke Calvin drew a walk and
Makalah Clark singled to center field to advance Calvin to third. After a strikeout, the Hawks attempted a double steal, but Calvin was caught at home while Clark moved to second and advanced to third on defensive indifference. The final out was recorded on runner interference, ending the game with Morgan State securing the 4–1 victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
Lola Meyer's two-hit performance pushed her season total to 25 hits and 13 RBI, leading the team in both categories.
Chloe Weber tossed four innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out two.
Paris Richards entered in relief, pitching two innings and allowing five hits and two earned runs with one strikeout.
Amaya Nunez,
Clarke Calvin and
Makalah Clark each recorded a stolen base.
Emily Gunther and
Skylar Skinner each recorded a double, their fourth of the season.
