University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's volleyball adds assistant coach Jake Adams

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore announced the addition of Jake Adams to the Hawks' men's volleyball coaching staff ahead of the 2027 season.

Adams joins head coach Imanol Davila-Morales' staff after spending the 2025-26 season as a graduate assistant with the University of West Georgia women's volleyball program. During his time with the Wolves, Adams coordinated recruiting outreach, assisted with athlete evaluations and managed campus visit logistics while gaining experience in player development. He also led film breakdowns and scouting reports using Volleymetrics and Hudl, assisted with daily practice planning and led small-group and individual training sessions.

Adams has also served as a camp coach with Gold Medal Squared since 2024. In that role, he has traveled nationally to teach technical fundamentals and system concepts while working alongside collegiate coaches on drill design, training tempo and camp operations.

At the club level, Adams has coached with West Georgia Volleyball Academy and Triangle Volleyball Club. With West Georgia Volleyball Academy, he coached the 18s girls team to multiple gold-bracket finishes, including medal finishes at Lil' Big South and SVT Regionals, as well as the Commander's Cup title. He also contributed to the development and recruitment of athletes who went on to compete at the collegiate level.

Previously, Adams served as a resource coach with the 17s boys Triangle Volleyball Club, contributing to the development of two athletes who were later selected to the U19 U.S. National Team.

A former four-year starter at Barton College, Adams served as a team captain and member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He helped lead the Bulldogs to multiple Conference Carolinas Tournament appearances and received the 2023 Barton College Sportsmanship Award. Adams finished his playing career ranked among the top 10 in program history in both kills and digs.

Adams earned a bachelor's degree in sport management and business administration from Barton College in 2025. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in sport management with a concentration in sport analytics at the University of West Georgia.
