NORFOLK, Va. – September 13, 2026 – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore volleyball team closed out its weekend at the Old Dominion Tournament on Sunday, falling to host Old Dominion in four sets at the ODU Volleyball Center.
After dropping the opening two sets by identical 25-18 scores, the Hawks responded with their best offensive set of the afternoon. Maryland Eastern Shore hit .435 in the third set and earned a 25-18 victory to extend the match. The Hawks continued to battle in the fourth before Old Dominion held on for a 25-23 win to take the match, 3-1.
Rayah Howell led the Hawks offensively with 10 kills while hitting .412. Karielys Melendez followed with nine kills and two service aces, while Malaysia Shaw added eight kills and five block assists.
Kate-Linh Eden finished with a team-high 19 assists, while Jocelyn Torres contributed 12 assists and a service ace. Arianna Warner-Torres led the Hawks with eight digs and three service aces.
At the net, Dynasty Andrews and Shaw each finished with five total blocks, while Gabrielle McCoy added three block assists. The Hawks totaled 10 blocks as a team and finished with eight service aces.
Maryland Eastern Shore wraps up its weekend in Norfolk after facing Navy on Saturday and Old Dominion on Sunday.
