COLLEGE PARK, Md. – September 6, 2026 – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's volleyball team closed out the weekend Sunday with a 3-0 loss to Maryland.
The Hawks fell by set scores of 15-25, 16-25 and 16-25.
UMES held an early advantage in the opening set before Maryland pulled ahead for a 25-15 win. After dropping the second set, the Hawks battled in the third and remained within two at 14-12 before the Terrapins created separation to close out the match.
Shayla Henry led Eastern Shore with seven kills while hitting .286. Karielys Melendez added six kills, five digs and a service ace, while Jayda Hutchins finished with 13 assists and five digs.
Arianna Warner Torres recorded a team-high nine digs, while Dynasty Andrews led the Hawks at the net with five total blocks.
