Biography

2017 (Senior): Capped off exceptional three year collegiate career, starting 51 of 52 games at shortstop ... third team All-MEAC selection ... hit .266 and tied for a team high 15 steals ... finished alongside Jordan Wesley for sixth in the MEAC in steals ... tied for second in hits (49) and tied for a team high nine sacrifice bunts ... led the team with 140 assists while earning a respectable .939 fielding percentage ... helped turn 23 double plays, second most on the team ... had the third best batting average in conference play with a .325 ... third on the team in RBI's with 20, including five games with multiple RBIs ... earned a pair of three hit games against Coppin State and Pittsburgh, and a pair of three RBI games against North Carolina A&T and Coppin State. 

2016 (Junior):
Made tremendous strides on the offensive side in his junior season ... batted .273 (fourth highest overall, third best among regular starters) ... led team in runs scored (33) and walks (21) ... improved average over 100 points from his sophomore year ... was a fixture on defense with a team high 126 assists along with 69 putouts ... stole 16 bases in 19 attempts ... reached base in 17 consecutive games from Apil 2nd to May 7th and saw average climb from .209 to .277 in that stretch ... smacked three hits in a game three times, most recently against Coppin State on April 30th ... member of the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team. 

2015 (Sophomore):
Started at shortstop for the Hawks all season long after transferring from Delaware Tech ... scattered 25 hits over the course of the season with 11 walks ... was third on the team in stolen bases with 10 ... went 2-for-4 with two RBIs March 3rd at George Washington ... added another pair of runs batted in at Winthrop on March 8th ... hit .192 with seven stolen bases in conference play ... went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and RBIs against Delaware State on April 19th ... finished the season with a 1-for-3 and a run scored versus Norfolk State in the MEAC Tournament.

Born on May 19, 1994 in Atlanta...son of Willie and Schenell Martin...has a brother Jalen...exercise science major at Maryland Eastern Shore ...made the dean's list at Delaware Tech in 2013...was a 4 year letterwinner in baseball at Heritage High in Georgia, while also serving as class president...was named to the 2012 Rawlings All-Southeast Regional Team and also named one of Georgia's top 100 players, which he lists as his best personal sports moment...pre-game routine is to listen to music and pray...his dad is his biggest influence because of his teaching to always work hard for what you want because nothing is given to you without a fight...wants to pursue a career in the health profession or play professional baseball upon graduation...best advice received is always think for yourself and treat people the way you wish to be treated...hobbies includes reading and watching SportsCenter...favorite movie is 42...wants to make All-MEAC and win a conference title at Maryland Eastern Shore.
