Neus Quinonero

Neus Quiñonero Añó, or admirably known by her athletes as “Coach Q,” enters her third year as a volunteer with Maryland Eastern shore as one of the schools most distinguished track and field alumni. A two-time Maryland Eastern Shore graduate, Quiñonero holds a bachelor’s degree which she earned at the Shore in 2018 and continued her education with a master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling, graduating in 2021 while being a active volunteer coach for the Hawks. During the start of the 2022-23 Cross Country and Track and Field season, Quiñonero was the acting head coach for both team's, while a nationwide search was conducted for a new head coach.
 
During the 2019-20 season, Quiñonero helped the women’s cross-country program to a 2nd place finish in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and the men’s to 3rd place. During the indoor season, Quiñonero assisted both the men’s and women’s programs to 4th place finishes while being a mentor to a member of the women’s team to an individual MEAC title and conference record in the 5000m at 17:20.24.
 
As a student-athlete with the Hawks, Quiñonero was one of the most distinguished individuals to don the maroon and silver while being a name to know in the conference. During her three years, Quiñonero was a 6-time All-MEAC selection in cross country, the 1500m and the 4x400m. Additionally Quiñonero represented the Shore in post conference appearances at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships for cross-country.
 
Still an avid runner, Quiñonero participates in middle-distance events in her home country of Spain for the club Playas de Castellón.
