Curtis Peery enters his second season as the Assistant Coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, following three years as the Hawks[apos] graduate assistant coach. Peery, a 2009 graduate of Roanoke College, looks to follow in fellow RC alum head coach Frankie Allen[apos]s footsteps. Allen, an all-everything player turned successful coach, is one of the school[apos]s shining alumni. Peery hopes to follow this model and one day become a accomplished head coach.

Peery graduated with a degree in marketing and has worked several basketball camps throughout his college career, including the Roanoke College Basketball Camp and the Dell Curry Basketball Camp. He had a decorated career while at Roanoke, where hefinished with 1,349 points and 649 total rebounds.By the end of his time as a Maroon, Peery was ranked 12th in both scoring and rebounding, and 11th in free throws.
He earned numerous awards as a player including All-VaSID First Team, All-South Region Second Team and All-ODAC (Old Dominion Athletic Conference) First Team in his senior season. He was also a member of four All-Tournament Teams including the MVP of the CNU Invitational. Peery was a three-time ODAC All-Conference selection. He was also named to the Roanoke College All-Century Team in April of 2013
