Keith Coutreyer as served as an assistant basketball coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore since August of 2023.

Jason Crafton said. "I have known Coach Coutreyer for a long time. Over the course of his career, he has shown a passion for the profession while bringing valuable experience to each program he has been a part of."
A long-time Mid-Atlantic region coach, Coutreyer's most recent coaching stop was as an assistant at Hampton University. Prior to Hampton, he spent 10 years as part of the coaching staff at Howard University.Â

 Coutreyer also had success on the high school level serving as head coach at Laurel High School in Prince Georges County, Maryland for eight seasons. In his last three years at Laurel, the team had a 52-20 record which included a school-record 22-3 overall and 17-1 in league play during the 2007-2008 season. His 2008 team captured the regular-season league title, the county championship and the regional title for the first time since 1980. In his tenure as a high school coach, Coutreyer has sent over 25 players to play at the NCAA level..

"I am grateful for the chance to join the UMES coaching staff as we focus on developing our student-athletes on and off the court. Wins will be celebrated, but the lives that we touch will last a lifetime."

He graduated from Columbia Union College in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. At Columbia Union, now known as Washington Adventist University, Coutreyer played on the basketball team at the NCAA Division II level. He earned his Master's in Education Leadership at Howard in May 2018.
