Collins joined the Hawks during the 2023 softball season and helped the squad to a 14-30 record including 8-10 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play. The 2022 graduate of Division II Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida made the transition to coaching after a stellar two-year career as a pitcher for the Eagles. Prior to that, she spent two seasons at Florida South Western State College where she was 2019 NJCAA Pitcher of the Year.
She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Homeland Security with a minor in terrorism studies from Embry Riddle where she was standout as a senior after a solid junior season in 2020 (6-3, 2.95 ERA). In her final season as an Eagle in 2022, she was a DII Conference Commissioner's Association All-Region selection after taking the circle in 32 games with 29 starts going 20-10 with 25 complete games, five shutouts and a 1.96 ERA. She had a 1.11 WHIP over 200.1 innings pitched, 45 of her 154 batters struck out were caught looking and she limited opposing batters to a .197 average and picking up wins against three ranked teams.
Before Embry Riddle, she spent two season (2018-19) at Florida Southwestern College where she was a Suncoast Conference All-Academic Team honoree. She was named Pitcher of the Year by the NJCAA, Florida College System Activities Association and Suncoast Conference following the 2019 season. She was also named FCSAA Female Athlete of the Year, NJCAA first team All-American, National Fastpitch Coaches Association South All-Region Team and NFCA first team All-AmericanThat year her 1.15 ERA was good for second in the country, her 25 wins ranked seventh in NJCAA Division I. She recorded 187 strikeouts, 14 complete games and seven shutouts. AS a freshman she was named to the Suncoast Conference first Team, FCSAA Region 8 All-Tournament team (as well as tournament MVP) and FCSAA Region 8 second team All-State selection. In her Bucs career she won 40 games, threw 22 complete games, recording 304 strikeouts in 270 1/3 innings and had a 1.40 ERA.
