2024 (Freshman): Played in 26 sets across 11 matches…Finished the season with 12 kills and nine total blocks…Recorded a season-high five kills and two digs on Sept. 29 against Coppin State…Recorded her first collegiate kill in a win over Mercyhurst on Aug. 31…
High School/Club: Attended Eagles Landing High School…Earned First Team All-Region and Academic First-Team awards during her senior season…Recorded 158 kills at a .277 attack percentage, 33 service aces, 53 blocks, and 65 digs across 83 sets played as a senior…Finished the 2022 season with a sensational 72 aces…Finished her varsity career with 352 kills, 106 total blocks, 193 digs, and 106 service aces in 228 sets played…In McCoy’s final three seasons with the Eagles, she led her team to 22 or more wins each season…Played club volleyball for Talitha Koum - 18 Fearless…Favorite sports memory was during the 2023-2024 club season when McCoy and her squad got the win despite missing a lot of players and earning a bid to the national tournament.
Personal: Graduated with a 4.0 cumulative GPA…Digital Media Studies major at UMES…Her hobbies include reading, hanging with friends, and watching movies…Favorite movie is Perks of Being a Wallflower…Criminal Minds is her favorite TV show…Favorite athletes are Yossiana Pressley, who is Baylor’s all time leader in kills and member of the Atlanta Vibe of the Pro Volleyball Federation, and Gold Medalist track star Tara Davis-Woodhall….After UMES, McCoy plans to be a film director.
Favorite volleyball memory is, “my 18-Fearless club team beating our rivals in the last game of our season”... Chose UMES because of the environment, how kind everyone is, and how great the film program is. It was one of the only HBCU that had an in-depth digital media and film program”…Favorite thing about being a volleyball player is, “the team aspect and being able to contribute to something bigger than myself”... Enjoys playing volleyball at an HBCU because, "I think that it helps spread awareness about not overlooking programs just because they are small.”
