Bowie, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Women's Bowling Team recorded five more NCAA points over the weekend, toppling the Bulldogs of Bowie State University in a single five-game match over the weekend.
The Hawks, bowling without senior Ariel Givens, traveled up-state to defeat BSU 5-0 and roll some solid performances including a 729 series from Jessica Worsley with a high game of the day in that series of a 259.
Maryetta Lewis rolled scores of 176, 213, 201, 224, and 163 in the five games with Worlsey also rolling a 161 and 200. Senior Sandra Maresca was also solid rolling a 167, 200, 222, 231, and 148. Her three game series high was 653.
Megan Raymond, who rolled in four of the five games, knocked down a 202, 170, 170, and 163. Erin Fagan rolled 156 and 151 in two games, Christine King a 213 in her one game, and Kristie Minnis, coming back from injury, rolled a 175, 210, and 179.
The Lady Hawks improve their record in NCAA competition to 72-12 on the year.
UMES if off for almost two weeks, bowling after the Christmas holiday on the 27 and 28 of December at the 17th Annual Colgate Invitational in Stratford, N.J. and then later on the 28 and 29 at the NCAA Holiday Jamboree in Maple Shade, N.J.
