Dover, DE - Maryland-Eastern Shore outscored Delaware State 11-8 in the extra frame to snap a five-game losing streak against the Hornets.

Tee Trotter scored a game-high 20 points and Aaron Wellington added 16 to lead the Hawks. Maryland-Eastern Shore improved to 4-15 overall and 3-8 in the MEAC.

Delaware State lost for the third time in the last four games to fall to 8-11 and 7-4. Carlos Hawkins came of the bench to lead Delaware State with 18 points.

Delaware State led 34-29 at the half, and opened up a 49-42 lead on a dunk by Aaron Williams with 10:03 left in regulation. Maryland-Eastern Shore responded with a 13-0 run, and pulled ahead 55-49 on a jumper by Trotter with 4:54 left.

The Hawks led 58-56 when Delaware State tied the score on a follow-up basket by Williams with 23 seconds remaining in regulation. Each team had a shot opportunity in the closing moments of regulation, but failed to connect.

In the overtime, the score was 60-60 when Trotter hit a basket and free throw with 37 seconds left to give the Hawks a 63-60 lead. Maryland-Eastern Shore hit six-of-six free throws in the last 30 seconds. Delaware State had a chance to tie the game in the last four seconds, but committed a turnover on its final possession.
