HARRISONBURG, VA. - The UMES women's volleyball team lost their final match of the James Madison Invitational today, dropping their decision to the host Dukes 3-0 (30-16, 30-21, 30-16).
The Lady Hawks (1-8) did not have any players record double-digit kills as they were led by Chanita Wesley (Minneapolis, Minn.) with six. Yael Rozner (Haifa, Israel) contributed 14 set assists and seven digs in the losing effort, while freshmen Adora Luster (Woodbridge, Va.) and Holiday Eller (Minnetonka, Minn.) each added three kills.
The Dukes (7-3) received career-high kills totals from Lesley Schmidt and Michelle Johnson with 11 and 10, respectively.
UMES was represented on the all-tournament squad by sophomore Likica Grceva (Natick, Mass.). Miki Hogg (JMU), Kristain Allain (JMU) and Jaqueline Kohler (GMU) rounded out the all-tournament honors.
The Lady Hawks will try to pick up their first conference win on Tuesday, Sept. 20 as they travel to Washington D.C. to face the Howard Bison.
