ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The UMES volleyball team lost a 3-0 (30-17, 30-17, 30-12) conference decision to Florida A&M (FAMU) Friday afternoon at the MEAC Roundup.
Senior Melanie Durimel had a team high nine kills to lead the maroon and gray. Stephanie Braxton led the squad with 11 digs while setter Yael Rozner contribued nine assists.
FAMU got a match-high 19 kills from Maria Andonova. Marrita Crocket chipped in with 15 kills while Rosa Rojas finished with 17 digs.
UMES (10-11, 3-2 MEAC) returns to action Saturday with conference matches against South Carolina State and North Carolina A&T at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
