UPDATE! The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is sad to announce that the Baseball Alumni Game, scheduled for Sunday, October 28, 2007 has been cancelled.
Despite the rain and poor weather stopping today, the field is too wet to host a game.
"I am really dissapointed that we can not play tomorrow,"said Head Coach Will Gardner. "I was really looking forward to playing the game and spending time with our former student-athletes," he added.
The Hawks can not practice anymore this fall but plan on hosting an alumni activity during the Spring 2008 season.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Baseball players from the maroon and grey's proud history will be back on campus on October 28, 2007 as the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) will host a baseball alumni game to raise funds for the baseball program and to rekindle their relationship with baseball alums.
Head Coach Will Gardner didn't get a chance to host the event last season due to his arrival late in the year but this season the tradition will continue as the current team will play the alumni in one game on the 28th at 11:00 am. Former players are encouraged to attend. The cost is just $25.00 and each participant will receive a t-shirt, catered lunch, batting practice and participation in the game.
Lunch will begin at approximately 1:30 pm.
Any alumni of the university can participate in the day. Game playing, however, is limited to being a former player. If an alumnus wants to participate they will still receive batting practice, lunch and a shirt if they were not affiliated with the team.
To sign up, please RSVP to Assistant Coach Brandon McCabe by calling 410-651-8908.
All proceeds to go benefit the baseball team. Join the Hawks on October 28, 2007 for a day of fun and memories on the diamond of Hawks Stadium.
