PIKESVILLE, Md. - Christopher Clarke played only his third match of the year against Matthew Townes of Morgan State, but it may have felt like his fifth or sixth. Clarke played a marathon match against Townes at the # 4 singles spot, falling 6-7, 9-7, 6-3, 7-6, 11-9 as his team fell to the Bears 7-0.
While the final score didn't show it, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) played a tough match against Morgan State University. Kishan Sudusinghe fell at #1 singles 6-2, 6-1 and Marcus Robinson at #2 singles to Joaquin Turley 6-4, 6-1. Harold Fowler played the #3 singles and fell to Juan Ortiz 6-0, 6-1.
UMES dropped the doubles point as well, sealing the win for the Bears.
The Hawks have one final match, a MEAC match against Coppin State on Friday, April 13 at noon.
