PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The Norfolk State, Sacred Heart and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore coaches released the names of the All-Tournament team members for the Hampton Inn Salisbury-North Invitational held on Saturday.
Sacred Heart won the tournament by defeating Norfolk State in the first game 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-20) and UMES 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-21). Junior Courtney Kidd-Kadlubek was named to the All-Tournament team and sophomore Jessica Colberg was named the Tournament MVP. Kidd-Kadlubek finished the tournament with 60 assists and nine digs while Colberg had 26 kills, three assists and one kill in the Pioneers' two matches.
UMES placed second in the tournament with a loss to SHU and defeating Norfolk State 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-12). Seniors Caylin Woodward (Garden Grove, Calif.) and Whitney Johnson (Prince Frederick, Md.) were named to the All-Tournament team for the Hawks. Woodward had 17 kills, 34 total attacks, nine assists and 24 digs with a .323 attack percentage in the tournament. Johnson finished the day with 18 kills 39 total attacks four digs and a .276 attack percentage.
Sophomore Nicole Kessner and freshman Ellica Morris were named to the All-Tournament team for the Spartans, who finished the day 0-2. Kessner had three kills, 10 total attacks, 49 assists and 11 digs while Morris had 15 kills, 37 total attacks and three digs.
