NORFOLK, Va. - Senior guard Casey Morton (Mardela Springs, Md.) was named to the All-MEAC Second Team, the league announced Thursday.
The honor is the third Morton has received from the conference in her career as she was MEAC Rookie of the Year and a MEAC All-Rookie Team selection in the 2007-08 season.
"I'm really pleased to see Casey get recognized in the conference for her contributions not only this year but for her career," said UMES head coach Fred Batchelor. "I am proud of her and expect big things from her in the MEAC Tournament."
Morton is ninth in the MEAC in scoring (11.4 points per game), steals (1.9) and 3-pointer made per game (1.3), eighth in free-throw percentage (74.5), and seventh in the league in 3-point percentage (32.4).
Morton was also named the Heritage Sports Network National Player of the Week on Jan. 26.
Morton is joined on the second team by Brittany Dodson (Morgan State), Whitney Wiley (South Carolina State), Jaleesa Sams (North Carolina A&T) and Quanneisha Perry (Hampton).
