SERAUS, KININI NAMED UMES PRMC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Oct. 19, 2015 PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Senior bowler Thashaina Seraus (Oranjestad, Aruba) and junior runner Khalil Rmidi Kinini (Malaga, Spain) were named the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Peninsula Regional Medical Center Athletes of the Week for the week ending on October 19th.

Seraus aided greatly in helping a young Hawks team earn 8 out 10 wins last weekend at Pikesville. She bowled a 245 helping the Hawks roll over Morehead in the first ten frames, 1081-886. The next day she helped her team go a perfect a 5-0 on the day bowling a 234 in the second match and a 232 in the third set of frames.

Kinini finished in the top ten in the Princeton Invitational. He finished with a time of 24:09.2 in the 8K good enough for a sixth place finish. That mark is now the second best time for a UMES men's athlete in the 8k cross country race. His place and some pretty good finishes landed the Hawks a 14th place finish at the meet.

Bowling is back in action Friday, October 30 at Fairleigh Dickinson and cross country will compete that weekend in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Championships in Smyrna, Delaware.
