SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Despite going winless at the Spartan Invitational, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Softball Team's Vanessa Gomez (Belleville, N.J.) received recognition as she was named to the All-Tournament Team, the announcement came this afternoon.

Gomez was the lone Maryland Eastern Shore player to make the team as she finished the tournament hitting .500 (4-of-8) with two stolen bases, a double, a triple, and a run scored in the three contests.

USC-Upstate highlighted the all-tournament team with five representatives, including the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP), Dana Landers. Bryant had four student-athletes make the squad as well.

On Feb. 27-28, the Lady Hawks head to Rock Hill, S.C. to compete in the Winthrop Adidas Tournament. On Friday (02/27), the squad will take on Wagner (3 p.m.) and Hartford (5 p.m.). The next day (02/28), UMES meets Austin Peay (11 a.m.) and Harvard (5 p.m.).
