PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Men's Basketball forwards Dominique Elliott (Savannah, Ga.) and Bakari Copeland (Decatur, Ga.) were named the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 3. Elliott is being named for the third time this year, while Copeland is being named for the first time.

Elliott contributed 16 points and seven rebounds at UMBC. He had a double-double 12 points and 10 rebounds on 5-of-8 shooting against Pittsburgh.

Copeland scored a career-high 23 points, including 16 in the first half, to help the Hawks have a strong start against Pittsburgh. He was 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-5 from free-throw line, and added one assist and one block.

Elliott, Copeland and the men's basketball team are away Wednesday Jan. 6 at Columbia before returning home Monday Jan. 11 for conference play against Morgan State.
