Jan. 7, 2016 PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - After a month long hiatus the Hawks track & field teams resume their 2015-16 indoor schedule with four meets in the month of January. These meets will challenge the teams against some of the best in the region and nation.
It all kicks off with the Villanova Open this Friday at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Complex on Staten Island in New York. Field and running events begin at noon with both lasting throughout the day. Relays should conclude the evening around 7:00. Schools from all around the Mid-Atlantic region will compete at the Open.
UMES will have two more meets at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field complex in January-the Great Dane Classic on the 10th and the Gotham Cup on the 22nd. The month wraps up in Annapolis with the Wesley Brown Invitational on the 30th.
Some of the triumphs that UMES has already achieved during the start of the season include the surpassing of several personal records and the awarding of MEAC field athletes to junior Naje Benton (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore Regyn Davis-Young (Lanham, Md.).
