Eastern Shore basketball announces 1ticKet drive

Nov. 1, 2016

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Each Fall brings new excitement for the men's and women's basketball teams of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and the 2016-17 season is no different. But this season, Hawk Athletics has created the 1ticKet drive, a campaign designed to sell 1,000 season tickets.

"We want everyone to experience the excitement that is basketball on The Shore," said Director of Athletics Keith Davidson. "There is a great brand of basketball being played here in Princess Anne, and we hope our alumni, friends, fans and community will take the initiative to come out this season and support Eastern Shore Athletics."

Maryland Eastern Shore created the campaign as a way for alumni and community members to give back to Hawk Athletics. "We don't operate on any state funding," added Davidson. "The 1ticKet drive helps all the sports we have, not just basketball, so buying a season ticket gives back; it helps us to continue to operate our Division I athletic department and hopefully means more people in Hytche, experiencing one of the best entertainment products in the area."

General Admission seating is just $125 for the season that gets you admission into 22 home contests, including Homecoming on Feb. 18 when the Hawks take on North Carolina Central.

New this season are different levels of season tickets. After general admission seating there are seat back packages, which feature seating in the maroon seats center court, featuring a more comfortable view of the game. Those packages include seat stickers and Hawk's Nest Hospitality access and are just $160.

Back this season after a successful debut, are courtside seats, where the pricing held steady at $500 to sit front and center of the action. Included in the Courtside Club is a parking pass and hospitality access, as well as other perks, including a gift and deliverables during games.

There is also a new Faculty/Staff discount, where University employees can purchase tickets for just $100 in the GA section. Faculty/Staff discounts carry on throughout the other levels of seating.

Family Four-Packs, so Hawk fans can bring the whole flock, also are available, making it cheaper to purchase the multiple tickets.

Of course season ticket holders have the option to buy hospitality access and game-day parking if it isn't included in their package. Fans who want to attend the MEAC Tournament, held again this season in Norfolk, Va. in March, can add a single MEAC Tournament Ticket book, good for every game of the event, for just $50, a savings of over 60 percent!

Hawk fans who buy season tickets and can't make every game can donate their tickets to area children, seniors, military or first responders by letting the Hawk ticket office know in advance. The program is designed to help alumni who want to give back to the University as well as being able to help the Eastern Shore community.

Ticket brochures are in the mail now, can be printed online here or fans can purchase tickets online at umestickets.com. Single date tickets are also on sale at $5 per game or $10 per double header (excluding Homecoming). To request a brochure to be mailed, fans may call the ticket office at 410-621-3311.

Those who want to only purchase the MEAC Tournament Tickets can do that as well. The cost is $80 before Jan. 1, 2016 and $93 after that date.

The 1ticKet campaign is in full swing now and local community and alumni groups are encouraged to call 410-651-6499 to get in on the ticket sale plan that rewards groups for selling into the 1ticKet campaign.
