April 29, 2016 PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - In their season finale, Coach Sam Douglas and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Softball Team takes on Howard in a three-game series.
Saturday's (April 30) doubleheader starts 1 p.m. whereas Sunday's (May 1) seven-inning contest begins noon at Hawks Field.
Saturday is also Senior Day; thus, seniors from both squads will be recognized before the first pitch. UMES seniors Emily Diseroad (Manchester, Md.); Vanessa Gomez (Belleville, N.J.); Kaitlyn Hitch (Delmar, Del.); Trenece Nash (Decatur, Ga.) Abria Tinsley (Sewell, N.J.) will be playing their final games in Maroon & Gray.

Last Wednesday (April 27), the Lady Hawks were blanked twice against the Drexel Dragons.
UMES dropped game one, 5-0, and then the Dragons finished game two in six innings with an 8-0 victory.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
Howard (7-32, 3-12 MEAC) looks to snap a five-game skid, dating back to April 20. Currently, the club is last in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division. The squad is led by All-MEAC Preseason honoree senior Al'Asia Davis. The Seattle-native is hitting. 432, which is third-best in the league. Other noteworthy Bison to watch is fellow classmate Jasmine Gammons.
For the Lady Hawks (11-28, 4-11 MEAC), they are searching to end the season on a high note. Maryland Eastern Shore enters the final weekend looking to finish as high as fifth in the MEAC Northern Division. Gomez spearheads the senior class, leading the club in multiple hitting categories. In the circle, sophomore Adrienne Guerra (Monrovia, Calif.) leads the pitching staff in innings pitched (157.2) and strikeouts (127).
