PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — On Tuesday night (Nov. 20), the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team will be facing off with the Mercer University Bears for the first time ever.
The Shore (0-4) fell to the University of North Texas 68-34 on Saturday (Nov. 17). The Hawks did not have a good day shooting from the field as they shot 22.6 percent from the field. Guard Ryan Andino (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was the only player to reach double figures against UNT as he had 11 points on 3-7 shooting.
The Bears are .500 after four games this season. Mercer's two losses have come to UAB and Georgia State on the road. Both games ended with the Bears losing by single digits.
Mercer has three players averaging in double figures – Djordje Dimitrijevic, Ethan Stair and Ross Cummings – and are shooting nearly 35 percent as a team from three point range.
Tuesday's game can be heard locally on Fox Sports 960 AM WTGM and online at EasternShoreHawks.com. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 p.m. with Will DeBoer on The Shore Sports Network.
The Hawks will return home following their game with Mercer to face Central Penn on Saturday (Nov. 24). Eastern Shore will be back on the road after that as they head to Queens, NY to face St. John's University next Tuesday (Nov. 27).
