Hawks return to court against Richmond

The Shore dropped last year’s matchup on the road

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore will return to action on Thursday (Dec. 5) at 6 p.m., on the heels of what turned out to be a disappointing victory against Division III Greensboro College on Tuesday.

The Hawks (2-5) will still be without three players who are out due to injury, while junior Angelique Taylor (Wachapreague, Virginia) will make her return to the court after missing the last contest.

Junior Amanda Carney (Old Bridge, New Jersey) leads the Hawks in scoring (9.7 ppg) and rebounding (4.7) and will make her second straight start after coming off the bench for the first six games of the season.

Sophomore Brooklyn Bailey (Rock Hill, South Carolina) was the hero of Tuesday's game after coming through with a career-high 25 points.

The Spiders (5-3) are coming off a 61-57 loss to Bradley in the Coastal Carolina Thanksgiving Classic.

Richmond is led by sophomore guard Kate Klimkiewicz and her 11.5 points per game. Senior Jaide Hinds-Clarke averages 10.0 points and a team-high 5.8 rebounds.

Freshman Elaina Chapman is averaging 4.3 rebounds and is coming off a season-high nine against Bradley.
