The Shore falls to La Salle in Philadelphia

Explorers triumphant by a 13-4 final

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball team fell behind early as the La Salle Explorers ran away in a 13-4 victory Wednesday (April 10) at Hank DeVincent Field.

Brian Cordell (Pasadena, Maryland) and Peter Jamieson, Jr. (Carlton, Pennsylvania) had multi-hit efforts, with Jamieson scoring twice. On the mound, Derrick Rabb, Jr. (Charlotte, North Carolina) closed out the game with two scoreless innings.

La Salle plated the first seven runs of the game. The Explorers scored three runs in both the first and second inning, and added another in the third. The Shore got on the scoreboard with RBI's from Michael Warley (Mechanicsville, Virginia) and Payton Hoskins (North East, Maryland) in the fourth.

Five runs would be the closest the Hawks would get. Cordell added an RBI in the sixth and scored in the ninth.

Maryland Eastern Shore falls to 9-27 this season. They'll return to MEAC play Friday (April 12) versus Norfolk State.
