HANOVER, Maryland —Four runs were not enough for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball team against Coppin State on Sunday (April 28) as they fell 14-4 to close out the three game series with the Eagles.
The Hawks (10-37, 4-17 MEAC) jumped out to an early 1-0 on a
Dillon Oxyer (Pasadena, Maryland) grounder to score
Brian Cordell (Pasadena, Maryland) from third.
Coppin tied the game up in the bottom of the frame before the University of Maryland Eastern shore added two more in the second which would be the last lead the team would hold in the game.

Matt Smith (Salisbury, Maryland) with a sacrifice fly in the fourth to bring the game within two until the Eagles would score eight unanswered runs.
Junior
Andre Bell (Detroit, Michigan) registered three strikeouts in 1.1 innings of relief on a day where five Hawks took the mound.
Devynn Hancock (Salisbury, Maryland) went 2-for-3 with a run scored to lead The Shore.
