Hawks look for better results in repeat against A&T

Just four regular season games remain

GREENSBORO, North Carolina — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore will get a second crack a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival North Carolina A&T State on Monday (Feb. 24). The road contest — scheduled for 5:30 p.m. start — will be another tough test for the young Hawks (5-20, 2-10 MEAC) as the conference season winds down.

The Aggies put a beating on the The Shore at the William P. Hytche Center — 67-31 — in a game which saw no Hawk reach double digits in scoring.

Everything that could have gone wrong that day did as Eastern Shore shot just 21% (10-of-48) from the field, 15% (3-of-20) from behind the arc and 36% (8-of-22) from the free throw line.

The Hawks were held to single digits in each of the first three quarters and were outrebounded 56-27.

"This game will be about possessions," Hawks coach Fred Batchelor said. "It will also be about limiting their offensive rebounds, protecting the paint, forcing them to score from the perimeter and — most importantly — handling their pressure and limiting turnovers."

Following the game, the Hawks will return home for Saturday's (Feb. 29) homecoming matchup with Delaware State at 2 p.m.
