Hawk looks to end three-game losing streak at Delaware State

Game is first of three straight on the road

DOVER, Delaware — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore will face off with Delaware State in a road matchup Monday (Feb.  3) at 5:30 p.m., while looking to end a three-game losing streak and pick up its second Mid-Eastern Conference victory of the conference season.

The Hawks (4-15, 1-5 MEAC) have just 10 games remaining in the season to get things together before the MEAC Tournament.

The last time out, head coach Fred Batchelor and the coaching staff revamped the starting lineup based on the previous week of practice. The new lineup brought the total number of Eastern Shore player who have started a game this season to 11 and Batchelor indicated at the time the staff wouldn't stop looking for answers until they found a group who could play consistently together.

Junior Amanda Carney (Old Bridge, New Jersey) continues to lead The Shore in scoring at 10.6 points per game and rebounding with 4.4 per contest.

The Hornets (8-11, 4-2) are coming off a 72-55 win against Coppin State. Junior guard Sharajah Collins leads Delaware State with 13.1 points per game and graduate transfer Tierra Floyd — from Xavier University — leads the team in rebounding with 6.3 per game.
