UMES women's relay teams highlight Hawk efforts at Wagner Seahawk Shootout
STATEN ISLAND, New York – With the second indoor meet of the season now in the books, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's relay team highlighted the Hawks' efforts during Friday's Seahawk Shootout hosted by Wagner College.
Competing in Staten Island's Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the second straight week, UMES opened the event with impressive sprints in the 60 meter dash as Radjae Reid came in second place with a time of 6.90 while
Andie Kollie was in fourth place with a time of 6.92. In the women's 60 meter race,
Jazmine Thomas finished in eight place (7.79).
The UMES women had two top ten finishers in the 300 meter race with
Chloe Lucas placing sixth (39.94) and
Mackenzi Evans crossing the line in ninth (40.44) while the men's race had Kollie finish in seventh (34.85) and
Adrian Dula come in 10th (35.23). The men also had two top ten performers in the 600 meter race as
Destiny Emuze recorded a third place result with a time of 1:21.08.
David Martin was tenth (1:23.90).
The Hawk women provided the most excitement of the evening in the relays. The team of
Kimoria Chance, Thomas,
Kani'a Dozier and
Faithlyn Irving won the 4 x 200 meter relay in 1:43.53. In the 4 x 400m relay, Evans, Lucas,
Shy-Ann Campbell and Irving placed fourth (3:55.83).
