VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia – It wasn't a question of if
Janoi Brown took the 400m at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships, it was just a matter of how much he would beat his competition wise.

The senior ran a 47.56s to establish himself as the best in the conference, a mark he knew he could meet.

"This win meant a lot because I never won a 400m conference gold before and I have been hunting it down for several years," Brown said.

Head coach
Sharlene Milwood-Lee was equally as pleased on Brown's effort, putting it as a stamp on what the Hawks are capable in the upcoming spring season.

"His hard work and dedication to his craft is a testament to reaping what you sow," Milwood-Lee said. "He bought in early to the game plan and got himself into position to be the 400m champion and there is so much more that we haven't tapped into. I'm excited to see what his ceiling will be."
