NORTH EASTON, Massachusetts – It was another tough day for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball program, as the Hawks were roughed up in a 2-14 loss to Stonehill College on Saturday, May 13.
Despite the loss, the Hawks still are in playoff contention after Merrimack lost to Fairleigh Dickinson University, keeping the regular season tiebreaker the deciding factor.
Stonehill got on the board early with a two-run homer to center in the first against starter
Noah Covington.
Luke Myers got the Hawks a run with a single to right field in the top of the first to cut the Skyhawk lead in half.
The home side scored two in the bottom of the third, doubling up on their lead against the Hawks. They would add another on a fielder's choice in the same inning.

Alex McCoy from second base.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, the pitching staff was unable to keep UMES in the game following the fourth inning. Stonehill put together eight unanswered runs against the Hawks to close out the final innings.
The getaway game for the Hawks comes at noon on Sunday, May 14 in Massachusetts in an important Northeast Conference meeting, The game will be streamed though NEC Front Row with live stats provided by Stonehill.
