HOW IT HAPPENED
 
Playing their second game in three days against a nationally ranked opponent, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks were unable to keep pace with the Razorbacks of Arkansas. Arkansas snatched all the momentum early on with a 28-0 run and never looked back.
 
Arkansas was up by 45 points at the half, 60-15, while making 66% of its shot attempts.
 
With turnovers plaguing UMES throughout the night, the Hawks surrendered a 17-0 run early in the second half as the Razorbacks went on to cruise to the the lopsided victory.

 
 
BY THE NUMBERS
 
The Hawks made a season-low 14 field goals and were held to 23% shooting from the field.
 
For the first time this season, no Hawk eclipsed double-digits in scoring.
 
Monday marked the second straight game in which UMES faced a nationally ranked team (No. 25 Illinois on Nov. 23).
 
Arkansas held a 31-0 edge in points off turnovers.
 
UMES gave the ball away 19 times compared to four turnovers by Arkansas.
 
Ketron "KC" Shaw and Jose Cuello recorded seven points to be the top UMES scorers on Monday.
 
Arkansas shot 55.6% from the field including 15 three-point makes.
 
Seven Razorbacks scored in double-figures. Kartner Knox led all players with 21 points.
 
UMES has lost 22 straight road games.
