HOW IT HAPPENED
UMES opened the scoring in the top of the second inning. In a bases loaded situation,
Ryan Davis drew a walk to bring home
Anders Brown.
Doyle McNew drew another walk on the next at bat to bring in
Carter Rieben as UMES went up 2-0.
CCSU tied the game in the bottom of the third inning on a two-run homerun by Colby Brouillette. Later in the inning, a single by Michael Torniero put the Blue Devil up, 3-2. Brady Short singled in the fourth inning to bring home Elliot Good. CCSU took comtrol of the game in the seventh on a two-run single by Aidan Redahan and added another run in the eighth on a double by Hunter Pasqualini.
THE NUMBERS
After managing to put up 10 runs on Wednesday at Navy, UMES batters were held to a combined three hits on Friday.
Cade Williams started on the mound for the Hawks and pitched five innings while giving up two earned runs and five hits. Jake Neuman pitched a complete game for CCSU giving up three hits and striking out eight batters.
UMES has led in five of the last six games but has failed to hang on for a victory.
