SUMMARY
The Long Island Universit Shawks took the weekend series over the Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore with a dramatic 8-5 win on Saturday followed by a 16-4 result on Sunday.

SATURDAY SUMMARY
UMES took the early lead as
Bronson Taylor double to right to send
Anders Brown home in the bottom of the second inning. LIU responded with a run in the third inning on a wild pitch followed by a Jack Power home run in the top of the fourth inning to go up 2-1.Â
UMES reclaimed the lead in the seventh inning with three runs resulting from a combination of singled by Joe Wright Jr and
Kenneth Gaskins coupled with Shark fielding errors to put the Hawks up, 4-2.
The ninth inning proved to be the difference for LIU as a series of wild pitched and walks by Hawk pitching allowed LIU to tie up the game, 4-4. LIU took the lead on a ground ball that advanced the runner to home plate. A single by Noah Sorensen added two more runs for LIU who went on to the 7-4 win.
THE NUMBERS
Saturday was the thrid straight game in which UMES surrendered a lead in the late innings.
LIU scored seven runs on six hits. UMES had 12 hits in the game while stranding 12 base runners.
Bronson Taylor recorded his fourth straight multi-hit game going 3-for-4 from the plate.

Cade Williams had a strong performance with five inning pitched while giving up two earned runs and four hits.
SUNDAY SUMMARY
LIU opened the scoring in the second inning as a Shane Surrett single scored a run followed by a Benjamin Fierenze double brought Surrett home for the two run inning.
UMES took advantage of LIU control issues in the bottom of the inning as Danny Sadler, Jr. and
Anders Brown crossed home plate on a Shark wild pitch to tie the game, 2-2.
A defensive error by UMES in the fifth inning resulted in three runs coming home for the Sharks and a 5-2 lead. LIU added to its lead in the seventh on a two-run double by Jake Mastillo to go up 7-2. The Hawks narrowed the gap in the sixth inning on a
Carter Rieben single that brough Sadler, Jr. and Brown around to score.
LIU took full control of the game in the eighth inning on a two-run homerun by Jack Power to put the Sharks ahaead, 9-4. A seven-run ninth inning by LIU resulted in a 16-4 win for the Sharks.
THE NUMBERS
LIU scored 16 runs on 13 hits.
The Hawks totalled six hits on the afternoon with
Anders Brown leading the UMES offense going 2-for-4 from the plate.
LIU had six extra base hits while UMES recorded two on Sunday.
