Hawks take top spots in the triple jump, pole vault and mile run at HBCU Indoor National Championships
SUMMARY
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore track and field program took first place in the women's triple jump, men's pole vault and men's mile run while competing at the inaugural HBCU Indoor National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday. As a team, the UMES men and women both finished in second place in the standings.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
UMES senior
Faithlyn Irving won the triple jump for the third time this season with a season-best leap of 12.70m. Teammate
Jonysha Prucien finished in second place with a mark of 12.10m. Sprinter
Kimoria Chance made the podium with a third place finish in the 200 meter race with a time of 24.95.
Alyssa Dyett earned points in the 60 meter dash with a fourth place time of 7.65 and in the 200 meter race by finishing in sixth place (25.72).

MEN'S RESULTS
UMES pole vaulter
Kareem Kamandego won with a mark of 3.90 meters for his first win of the season while runner Jalen Rideway won the mile race with a time of 4:31.11. UMES also had a quartet of second place finishes in
Tyrese Golston, Yourie Lawrence-Clarke and
Malachi Aiken. Golston took silver in the 60 meter dash (6.99) and the 200 meter race (21.83). Lawrence-Clarke was second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 7.89. Aiken finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.68m.

The Hawks will turn their attention towards the outdoor season which begins on March 21 at the University of South Carolina Weems Baskin Relays in Columbia, South Carolina.
