PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Head coach Malikah Willis and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's basketball program is excited to announce the addition of Camryn Johnson as the Director of Basketball Operations for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Johnson joins Willis, associate head coach Adria Crawford and assistant coach Sarah Miles on the coaching staff.
Johnson joins UMES after serving as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations for the NJIT women's basketball program since July 2023. During her time with NJIT, Johnson helped mentor an America East Rookie of the Year, first team all-conference and all-defensive selections. Johnson also helped install an offense that led the America East in scoring in the 2024-25 season while overseeing all program operations.
Prior to NJIT, Johnson earned her Masters of Science in Sports Management from George Washington University while serving as a graduate assistant for two seasons from 2021-23. In this role Johnson supported the coaching staff in daily operations, practice planning and scouting.
Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Francis Marion University in 2021. Johnson was a three-year letter winner for the Patriots' women's basketball team while starting 30 of 65 games played for Francis Marion after transferring from the University of Louisiana Monroe after one year.
From Fort Washington, Maryland, Johnson played high school basketball for Elizabeth Seton where she was a McDonald's All-American nominee as a senior while also earning All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference honorable mention recognition and was selected to play in the Buffalo Wild Wings High School All-America Game.
