PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's basketball program is headed to the Bahamas for the annual Battle 4 Atlantis Showcase this season.
The Hawks will travel to Paradise Island, Bahamas, as a part of the November 22-24 Battle 4 Atlantis women's basketball showcase in the Atlantis Paradise Island's Imperial Arena.
"Battle 4 Atlantis will be great exposure for our program, " head coach Malikah Willis said. "This experience demonstrates the trajectory of our administration's efforts trending in the right direction. We look forward to representing UMES in the Bahamas. This season will forever be purposeful for our seniors and the journey isteslf will be their greatest reward."
This will be the fifth iteration of the Battle 4 Atlantis women's basketball competition. In addition to the Hawks, Penn State, Princeton and San Diego State will compete across the three-day slate of games. Each team will play two games through the showcase.
UMES will face San Diego State on Nov. 22 and matchup with Princeton on Nov. 23.
The women's showcase, along with the men's tournament later in the week, will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU.
The Hawks are the second HBCU program to take part in the women's event. Howard University was the first to compete in the event in 2023.
